The spring equinox comes tonight at 4:01 a.m. central time and warm weather will follow. Spring is officially here.
Last week there was a blood-worm moon. A worm moon is the first full moon in March. It often comes just before the spring equinox. A blood moon happens during a full lunar eclipse every two and a half years or so. The moon shrinks to a sliver as the Earth obscures it from the sun. Then during totality, a bit of light gets around the circumference of the Earth, giving the moon a blood red colour. It’s an astronomical coincidence for a worm moon and a blood moon to coincide.
In the spirit of the changing seasons, here’s a podcast segment I recorded last fall a little late to be relevant.
I hope you enjoy it and learn something new.
Happy equinox y’all!
Dre
